Black Walnut Desk

Another project I am currently working on is a black walnut desk. 26 inches wide by 7 feet long. This desktop was made by taking 2 slabs of walnut, cutting and joining them together. Picture One shows the desk just out of the slab flattener. The slab flattener takes out the hills and valleys of the surface to make it completely flat. Picture two shows the results of the first round of sanding and completed epoxy work. For this desk, I have chosen to use metal legs. Next step will be attaching the legs.

**Project Update** Original plan was to use metal legs but when I received them, I was not happy with the quality but I liked the design. Decided instead to make them out of maple. All pieces are cut and ready for assembly.
